NCSFA Workshop

Linda Doll

Shadow and Light was March 2018
There was a great turn out for Linda Doll's Light and Shadow workshop. It was impressive that the students nearly finished a painting using Linda's simplified method of creating a drawing of a figure with emphasis on the shapes of light and shadows in the three hour workshop.  The focus of this workshop was seeing, understanding, and capturing sunlight, shade, and shadow. The students also explored the basic controls of abstract design and the inventive use of color since more paintings suffer from lack of design and color organization than anything else. We learned much more about drawing a figured and the design element.
Linda uses her ipad as a sketch   pad with an app called "procreate". That might be another workshop on how to utilize the ipad  and "procreate" with your artwork.
