Juror: Elaine Harvey
Elaine Harvey works in transparent watercolor, acrylic, and mixed media in a style which combines realistic and abstract elements. She is an award-winning artist whose paintings and observations on painting have appeared repeatedly inside and also on the cover and editorial page of The Artist’s Magazine and in a number of books and articles by her fellow artists and arts writers. Jury assignments have included National Watercolor Society and many civic and art society competitions throughout the United States. Elaine holds signature membership in the National Watercolor Society, Rocky Mountain Watermedia Society, San Diego Watercolor Society, The Western Federation of Watercolor Societies, and Watercolor West. She lives in El Cajon California and teaches classes for the Athenaeum and for the University of California San Diego Extension, as well as for art organizations everywhere. Her paintings appear in public and private collections throughout the United States.

“The sights around me and the images and thoughts in my head guide my hand as I apply the paint, and the flowing paint evokes new images, relationships, and truths which become a part of the art. Each painting is a combination of past experience and present discovery.
-- “ Elaine L Harvey
