The Oceanside Museum of Art invites NCSFA Members:
May 7th, 12:00-2:00pm. Coffee and Conversation with OMA Artist Alliancet, 704 Pier View Way, 92054. OMA is inviting the NCSFA

"First Sunday Coffee and Conversation" is a monthly event free for all artists and creatives. It's a chance to get together at the museum for casual mingling and networking over drinks and snacks. Our goal is to encourage artists to keep up with what's going on in the North County/greater San Diego arts community and to learn about arts organizations and other resources. No reservations are necessary.

It's also an opportunity to check out the museum and see what we have going on - all for free! See the amazing show of  John Dillemuth: Gosmos and Contraptions

The Art Alliance of Idyllwild is seeking artists for their Saturday, June 10th, Plein Air Outdoor Painting Competition.  
Open to both members and visiting artists, this popular outdoor painting competition will be awarding $600 of prize money distributed between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.  
Participating artists will be painting around Idyllwild until 2pm on Saturday, June 10th.  In addition to submitting one completed piece for judging, artists also have the option of submitting a second piece.  All artwork for be available for purchase.  
Gallery will open with a public reception on Saturday, June 10th, at 5:30pm.  Art gallery and reception will be at Middle Ridge Winery Tasting Gallery located at 54301 N. Circle in the center of Idyllwild.  Art will continue to be available for purchase through the following day.

City of San Marcos and San Marcos Art Association invite artists to exhibit at the Hearth Gallery, San Marcos Community Center, 3 Civic Dr. San Marcos 92069. Work displayed at 2 month intervals.More information.

City of Encinitas Arts Division oversees three civic galleries: the Civic Center Gallery, the Encinitas Library Gallery, and the Encinitas Community Center Gallery (with 2-D and 3-D exhibits at all locations). Applications for 2018 usually open January 2017 until the fall. The Arts Division is seeking artists to mount 56 exhibits in the city's three art galleries in 2017. Exhibit lengths are either 6 weeks or 2 months, depending on the location. No gallery commission. They promote your exhibit via print and social media, in the Encinitas Arts & Events Calendar, and e-Newsletter, that is sent to 16,500 subscribers each week. Onlne PDF application, email up to 10 JPG high res. images. The application and instructions are on the city website.

In most schools, visual arts programs are meager or simply do not exist. Private art classes and higher education programs are not affordable for most people.
